Oberlin: A small town that makes big history :)

The Oberlin Project aims to revitalize the local economy, eliminate carbon emissions, restore local agriculture, food supply and forestry, and create a new, sustainable base for economic and community development.

It also aims to make the city carbon neutral (and hopefully carbon positive) by 2025, and the college by 2015.

I believe Oberlin has served historically as an example of experimenting and aiming towards progress. And like Oberlin, there are many cities in the United States and across the world that are beginning their journey towards sustainability :)

Mad props for this video. It’s super beautiful.

From the First Year Experience Area Coordinator:

There are at least 200 applications for just under 150 spots each year. So, if you have a quality application that is in by the deadline you have a great chance!

Plug: if you want to know more about FYRE… you can now follow them on Tumblr, too!
