Ecolympics has begun!
Oberlin: A small town that makes big history :)
The Oberlin Project aims to revitalize the local economy, eliminate carbon emissions, restore local agriculture, food supply and forestry, and create a new, sustainable base for economic and community development.
It also aims to make the city carbon neutral (and hopefully carbon positive) by 2025, and the college by 2015.
I believe Oberlin has served historically as an example of experimenting and aiming towards progress. And like Oberlin, there are many cities in the United States and across the world that are beginning their journey towards sustainability :)
