Since we got some asks over the summer about how one can work for the Oberlin blogs, we feel like it is our civic duty to tell you all that we are HIRING! This year, we’re looking for creators of the following kinds of content:
Elaboration on these positions and application details are in the link here. Apply by emailing your application to us (apply[AT]blogs.oberlin.edu) by September 24th!
Be awesome! Apply! Impress us! But really, the two things to do now is to start blogging if you’re not already and to keep an eye out for our application in September (released on the Oberlin blogs).
Since you’re a Tumblr user, I presume you already have a blog, but you might want to consider tagging your original content so we will more easily be able to see what you’re doing when you apply.
This ask from last year covers pretty much everything, but please get in touch with me (maayan.plaut[AT]oberlin.edu) if you want to talk more.

I’m reading the Oberlin blogs and missing college so much right now.
Not to tug at your collective heartstrings *too* much, but the Oberlin blogs have had some super excellent posts in the last few weeks. Read them!
(Editor’s note: If you’re doing something awesomely fabulous this summer and want to tell the world about it, shoot us a message/ask and we’ll see what we can do to get you a guest post on the blogs :D)
I like to think that if I hadn’t gotten into Oberlin, I would’ve been 100% ok with it. Then I got a phone call from the Oberlin admissions department. Obviously, I was thrilled, but oddly enough, I had done such a good job of convincing myself that I wanted to go to another school that I was a bit hesitant to accept Oberlin’s offer.
…I do believe that the best way to learn is to teach. And for the sheer number of educators that exit through Oberlin’s doors, I think it’s a great thing that we can cut our teeth in teaching with support from our school and our classmates.

Can you imagine reading a powerful book that could fuel scores of fruitful discussions, and then getting the chance to have those discussions be facilitated by the author of said book? It’s an incredible experience.
There have been times, single moments when I’m confronted by a person who shows me that I will never be able to do certain things.
